Jimmer Fredette on why he didn’t go to NBA last year

BYU guard Jimmer Fredette joined the show to talk about his incredible season.

Fredette talked about why he didn’t go to the NBA last season. He said he worked out for teams and wanted a guarantee they’d pick him. “They didn’t know exactly where I was going to be picked,” Fredette said.

Fredette said if he had been a top-15 pick last season, he would have jumped. “If I had known that and had been guaranteed, I probably would have left,” Fredette said.

Fredette also talked about why he didn’t end up at Syracuse. He said he met with Jim Boeheim, but ‘Cuse was all set at point guard. He said even though it wasn’t local, he wouldn’t have walked on there. He wanted a scholarship.

Dan asked what’s the biggest knock he hears about himself. He said people tell him he’s not athletic enough.

Dan asked the last time he signed an autograph. “Last night, I signed some kid’s forehead,” Fredette said. But he made it clear he asks parents first before he does stuff like that.
