Pittsburgh’s Jamie Dixon breaks down Final Four

Pittsburgh coach Jamie Dixon joined the show to talk about the remaining teams in the NCAA Tournament and some of the big issues in college basketball.

Dixon commented on all the underdogs doing well. “I think this is the way it’s going to go more [often] in the future,” Dixon said. He said one-and-done is a big factor in that.

Dixon commented that one-and-done guys haven’t won many titles. He said other than Carmelo Anthony, there haven’t been a lot of them that have decided titles.

Dixon had a lot of praise for the team that beat them — Butler. “Matt Howard is as valuable a player as there is in the country,” Dixon said.

Dixon argued that his player Nasir Robinson absolutely knew the score and the situation at the end of the Butler game. (Seth Davis had said on our show that he thought Robinson believed the Panthers were trailing.)

Dixon said he’s leaning toward Butler over VCU because of its defense. He also leans toward UConn over Kentucky because Kemba Walker is the best player in the field right now.
