Jon Wertheim checks in from Penn State, says there are rumors Paterno may speak
Sports Illustrated’s Jon Wertheim joined the show to talk about Penn State firing Joe Paterno.
Wertheim said new coach Tom Bradley will speak at 11 a.m. ET and there is a rumor Joe Paterno may speak.
Wertheim is in State College and said the protests last night were not about the Jerry Sandusky case necessarily. They were about their strong feelings for Paterno.
Wertheim said that the majority of peopel in State College think the Board of Trustees did the right thing.
Wertheim said that he thinks that assistant coach Mike McQueary will not last the week.
Wertheim said that an issue that is emerging is civil liability cases. Paterno’s comments “I wish I had done more” are problematic for the University.
