FIND A STATION Dan Patrick Show
Monday: Daytona 500 winner, Kevin Frazier, Reggie Miller

New Dallas Mavericks forward Lamar Odom joined the show to talk about the trade from the Lakers.

Odom said that the Lakers didn’t want to keep him. “I figured out that it would happen at any given time,” Odom said. “They were going to trade me this year no matter what. They were trying to make the best business move for themselves. Which didn’t have my best [interest in mind]. I had to take control of the situation.”

Odom said that going to a place like Dallas is his top choice. Dan asked if he’s met Mark Cuban yet. “Over the phone,” Odom said. “He’s a great guy.”

Odom said it’s going to be weird going back to Los Angeles to play the Lakers on Jan. 16. He said it’s going to be even more awkward to play Kris Humprhies and the Nets.
