Tim McCarver weighs in on Reggie Jackson’s comments
FOX’s Tim McCarver joined the show to talk about the big storylines around MLB as the All-Star Game approaches.
Dan asked McCarver if he’d take Bryce Harper or Mike Trout right now. McCarver went with Trout. “I think he’s a better player,” McCarver said. “He’s bigger, stronger, faster.”
McCarver weighed in on Reggie Jackson’s comments that certain players didn’t belong in the Hall of Fame. Jackson said that players like Phil Niekro and Don Sutton didn’t belong in. McCarver totally disagreed because of their plus-300 win totals. “What difference does it make how long it takes you to do that,” McCarver said.
McCarver said time will tell about whether players like Roger Clemens and Andy Pettite will get in. But he agrees with Dan that Jack Morris belongs in the Hall.
