Gary Danielson explains why Alabama lost to Texas A&M

CBS analyst Gary Danielson joined the show to talk about Texas A&M’s win over Alabama and more.

Danielson said he thinks Alabama made some critical mistakes that cost them. He said offensively the Tide had a chance to run it down Texas A&M’s throat and instead they went to the finesse game. He also thought that Nick Saban refused to limit his defense against the fast-paced no-huddle offense.

Danielson said that Saban took some of the zip out of his pass rush by encouraging them not to rush past Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel. “I thought early in the game Alabama was playing too safe,” Danielson said.

Danielson said that Heisman voters shouldn’t care that Manziel is a freshman. “We should throw away these age things,” Danielson said.

Dan asked for Danielson’s prediction on who will end up in the BCS title game. Danielson said the sport is so unpredictable, that even though things usually end up so odd at the end, all three major undefeated teams could run the table.
