Paul Finebaum says Alabama not best team in country right now

Radio host Paul Finebaum joined the show to talk about the SEC’s place in the national picture.

Finebaum said Dan caused all these problems for Alabama, because the Tide believed it when Steve Spurrier said on the show that ‘Bama could beat an NFL team. Finebaum said because of that, Alabama forgot to prepare for the last two games.

Finebaum said Alabama is banged up right now and doesn’t think the Tide could beat Oregon. “Right now Alabama is clearly not the best team in the country,” Finebaum said.

Finebaum weighed in on Bobby Petrino. He said he talked to him a few weeks ago and thinks that Petrino has changed. And he thinks Petrino is a great coach. Nevertheless, Finebaum doesn’t think that Kentucky will hire him.

Dan asked Finebaum the last time someone did to Alabama what Johnny Manziel did on Saturday. Finebaum said no one has done that since Cam Newton.
