Charles Davis previews USC-Notre Dame; says Manziel new Heisman favorite

FOX’s Charles Davis joined the show after covering USC-UCLA to talk about that game and the BCS picture.

Dan asked if Saturday’s game was about USC or UCLA. “It should be about UCLA,” Davis said. “They went out and took it.”

Davis said that Notre Dame should win at USC this weekend. “But because it’s college football, you always have it in the back of your head, Will these kids find a way to motivate for one more game,” Davis said.

Dan asked for Davis’ take on Manti T’eo’s Heisman chances. “He’ll be in New York,” Davis said. “I don’t think he’s going to win it.”

Davis said he thinks that Johnny Manziel is gaining momentum as a Heisman favorite. Davis said he’s not ready to cast his vote yet, but he won’t count being a freshman against Manziel.

Davis weighed in on USC’s problems. He said the Trojans miss left tackle Matt Kalil, who is in the NFL. Davis said that there are a lot of questions about Matt Barkley’s NFL future. He wants to see Barkley’s real height.

“I’m a big Matt Barkley fan,” Davis explained. ” I’ve said this before, the tape measure will be big, because the shorter you are, the more athletic you have to be.”
