Jim Boeheim on conference realignment, greatest player in 'Cuse history

Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim joined the show to talk about winning his 900th game last night.

Boeheim’s Orange almost lost to Detroit last night. Boeheim said it might be good, because they haven’t been in a close game yet.

Boeheim weighed in on the Big East changing. He said it was very hard for football and basketball to co-exist in the conference. Boeheim said it would be better for those basketball power teams to leave.

Dan asked why Boeheim chose to talk about gun control after last night’s game. “That was a good moment,” Boeheim said. “I knew it would get attention.”

Boeheim said last night and again today that Dave Bing is the greatest Syracuse coach of all time. He said it gets tricky at No. 2 because Derrick Coleman or Carmelo Anthony will call him out if he doesn’t say them.

Dan asked Boeheim the one loss that sticks with him. Boeheim pointed to the 1987 title game loss to Indiana.
