Jason Whitlock: Dwight Howard needs to take over leadrship of Lakers

FOXSports.com’s Jason Whitlock joined the show to talk about Kobe Bryant’s personality and the Lakers.

“The Lakers are only going to go as far as the Lakers can take them at playoff time,” Whitlock said. “The team needs to be built around Dwight Howard. And he needs to be forced to mature.”

Whitlock compared it to the Miami Heat. LeBron got there and stood behind Dwyane Wade. The Heat needed LeBron to be the leader.

“With Kobe’s personality being so dominant,” Whitlock said. “Dwight Howard gets to hide.”

Whitlock also said Kobe’s defense is causing a lot of problems for Howard defensively. Whitlock said that Howard has to get on Kobe for defense.

Whitlock also said that Mike Brown might actually have been a better coach for a Dwight Howard-led team. And he thinks that Houston would actually be a better fit for Howard.
