Joe Montana on Super Bowl pressure, Flacco, read-option

Hall of Famer Joe Montana joined the show to share his take on the Super Bowl and more.

Montana weighed in on Super Bowl pressure. “It’s hard … especially when you get to the Super Bowl city,” Montana said. “Your body’s ready to go, but your mind has to tell it to slow down.”

Montana weighed in on Joe Flacco’s somewhat quiet demeanor. “The minute you change,” Montana said, “those guys know.” He said if Flacco had jumped around and been more vocal, teammates would be wondering what he was doing.

Montana weighed in on the read-option. “If I’m running the read option,” Montana said, “I’m like can I take the third option. Is there a throw in there.”

Dan asked Montana where he’d want to go to college as a QB now. He said that if you were a traditional QB, you’d probably look at USC or Penn State. But now more and more schools are using some form of the read-option.
