Coach K on conference realignment, his future and Olympic team
Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski joined the show to talk about his season and look ahead to the college hoops postseason.
Dan asked Coach K about the perception the college hoops regular season doesn’t mean as much as it should. “I think this regular season has been pretty exciting,” Coach K said. “Because there are so many teams that have a chance to win.”
Coach K weighed in on conference realignment. He likes the seven basketball schools breaking off from the traditional Big East and thinks that conference will be great. And he thinks the ACC will be even better at basketball in the future.
Coach K talked about his own future. He said that the last formal offer he got was from the Lakers, but he’s gotten less and less feelers of late. He said often he gets calls from NBA teams asking about players — especially international players.
Coach K did clear up that he’s not coaching the Olympic team again. He said he’s not making a recommendation either.
Interestingly, Coach K weighed in on some of the shows he watches when he gets a chance — Blue Bloods, CSI and The Dan Patrick Show. He said our show helps him fall asleep.
