Greg Anthony says no need to panic for Spurs after Game 2

NBA TV’s Greg Anthony joined the show to talk about the Heat-Spurs series and more.

Anthony said that Spurs fans shouldn’t panic after Game 2. “It’s not insignificant, but it’s just a loss,” Anthony said. “Both teams should feel good heading into San Antonio.”

Dan asked Anthony about Jeff Van Gundy’s criticism of the 2-3-2 NBA Finals format. Anthony said that he can see the shortcomings, but there is no clearly better system. Anthony said 2-2-1-1-1 is also flawed because of the travel.

Anthony also talked about the chances of Jason Kidd going straight from playing to potentially being a head coach. “He’s been an assistant coach the last five or six years,” Anthony said. He thinks that Kidd could do it as long as he has a strong staff, like Mark Jackson in Golden State.
