Yahoo’s Dan Wetzel joined the show to talk about the Bill Belichick’s press conference about Aaron Hernandez.
Wetzel said that he didn’t know if Belichick would say anything personal, because he’s “never portrayed himself as anything but the local pro football coach.” So he was a bit surprised Belichick made a long opening statement touching on his reaction.
But Wetzel said don’t read too much into the Hernandez case. “I look at Hernandez’s case as so extreme, I don’t know if you can draw anything out of it,” Wetzel said. “In the history of American crime, there aren’t that many people who have done that. … We’ve never seen a criminal like this in professional sports.”
Wetzel also commented on the Urban Meyer-Belichick connection. He said maybe Meyer’s recommendation won’t mean much moving forward.
