Sports Illustrated’s Tom Verducci joined the show to talk about MLB’s impending suspensions for players involved with BioGenesis and what’s next for Alex Rodriguez.
Dan asked Verducci if there was a chance A-Rod was eligible and the Yankees didn’t play him anyway. “He hasn’t exactly set the word on fire in his minor league rehab statement,” Verducci said. “He’s 38. There’s nothing that guarantees his performance [merits] him being in the lineup.”
Verducci said that A-Rod thinks that he’s never failed a drug test so he should face a 50-game suspension like everyone else. But MLB thinks that they have years on him and has brought other players to BioGenesis. “Fundamentally A-Rod has never got beyond the idea that he [should] face a 50-game suspension.”
