Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee joined the show to talk about his huge hit on Broncos returner Trindon Holliday last night in the Colts’ win.

McAfee had trouble sharing details on the hit. “To be honest, I black out when I go on the field,” McAfee said. “The whole thing, I didn’t know it happened til I saw the replay.”

But McAfee said that other punters should follow his lead.  “If you want to earn the respect of your teammates,” McAfee said, “you gotta lay the wood sometimes.”

McAfee was very happy to see former teammate Peyton Manning in Indy. “It was great to see him back in Indiana,” McAfee siad. “He’s done so much for this state. He’s usually such a robot. It was pretty cool to see him get emotional.”

But McAfee said he doesn’t think he deserves a fine. “I had my eyes closed running full speed,” McAfee said. “There was no targeting there.”

McAfee had a lot of praise for owner Jim Irsay and his Tweets this week: “He took every distraction out of our locker room and into his office. … He took a lot of heat out of that locker room.”
