Jimmie Johnson on winning 6th title, why drivers are real athletes

Sprint Cup champion Jimmie Johnson joined the show to talk about winning his sixth title.

Johnson said that the feeling is better every time. “It’s been a wild ride,” Johnson said.

Dan brought up the Donovan McNabb claim that drivers aren’t athletes. “Absolutely I’m an athlete,” Johnson said. “This debate is going to go on forever and ever.”

Johnson wants McNabb to drive so he can understand what it takes to drive at this level.  “I know it would blow his mind,” Johnson said.

Dan asked Johnson the greatest driver ever. He said that he isn’t comfortable saying himself. Johnson said Dale Earnhardt and Richard Petty are up there.

Johnson also had an interesting tidbit about driving on real streets. He thinks he’s good. His wife doesn’t at all.
