NFL Network analyst Kurt Warner joined the show to talk about the big stories coming out of Week 16. Here are some of his takes:
— Warner weighed in on Peyton Manning’s TD record. He said that Manning is very confident now when he gets a one-on-one matchup and can do pretty much what he wants. But Warner said that part of it is the rules. “I think it’s very, very difficult to play defense now,” Warner said.
— Warner weighed in on Matthew Stafford. He noted that Stafford is more physically talented then any QB in the League. That causes problems because he makes too many chances. He also noted that he has technique problems. Warner said that Stafford believes so much in his arm, that he isn’t careful with his feet.
— Warner was surprised by the Seahawks’ performance yesterday against Arizona. “I’m still amazed they couldn’t get anything going offensively,” Warner said.
— Dan asked Warner about the Packers and whether they should play Aaron Rodgers. Is it worth playing Rodgers if the Packers can’t do much in the postseason. Warner said that any team that gets in has a chance, like his Cardinals when they went to the Super Bowl. Right now, however, he’s not sure that he sees the Packers as a Super Bowl team.
