Steve Smith on attitude early in career: “Arrogance to its fullest”
Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith joined the show to talk about leaving the Panthers.Smith said it sounds funny to be introduced as a member of the Ravens … he was like “who’s that?”
Dan asked him to describe himself five years ago. Smith admitted that he wasn’t very mature. “Just responding, not really thinking. Typical egotistical, life revolves around you, becoming an adult professional at the peak of his career. … Arrogance to its fullest.”
Dan asked if he seriously considered joining the Patriots. Smith said that other teams were in play, but when he walked into the Ravens facility it felt right.
Smith commented on the video of the kid crying in the car upon learning he was cut. He said that he’s going to send the kid some gear in a few days.
