FIND A STATION Dan Patrick Show
Friday: Jim Parsons

New Auburn basketball coach Bruce Pearl joined the show to talk about why he took this job and how he hopes to recover his image.

Pearl talked about what Auburn offered him: “A second chance. It gives me a chance for redemption for some of the terrible decisions I made.”

Pearl tried to explain what he did wrong. He hosted a barbecue and players who shouldn’t have been there were. But he said he didn’t report it. “I ignored it,” Pearl said. “And then I lied about it.”

Pearl said it was “an incredible lesson to learn.” And he’s eager to make up for it.

Pearl also said that football coach Gus Malzahn has been incredibly supportive already, and even showed up at the pep rally when Pearl arrived.

Pearl said that his family is really excited for him to be back in coaching. He said that they viewed the Tournament as Spring Break.
