Friday: Mike Heller guest hosts

Wisconsin coach Bo Ryan joined the show to talk about the Final Four and more.

Ryan said to beat Kentucky they have to take care of the ball and don’t let the Wildcats’ penetrating ballhandlers do their thing. He said the key was just be themselves.

Ryan talked about facing Kentucky in 1976. It was his first game as a Division I assistant and he went against a dominant Adolph Rupp team. And he talked about recruiting Magic Johnson in the 1970s. He took his whole team to Magic’s high school to watch and he was awesome.

Ryan also talked about the influence of his father and how much he wish he could be there for this Final Four. Ryan talked about how his father taught him to love sports in Philadelphia and how he was an old-school coach who preached no turnovers and fundamentals.
