Wojnarowski on how NBA can expel Sterling

Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski joined the show to talk about the latest news on Clippers owner Donald Sterling.

Wojnarowski weighed in on what he thinks will happen:“The two possibilities are: 1) the Nuclear option … gather NBA owners and try to oust Donald Sterling. … They’d need 24 out of the 29 other owners to vote for it. 2) Short of that it will be a one-year suspension, $1 million fine, counseling, and extract Sterling from the day to day operations of the Clippers.”

Wojnarowski said there’s a provision in the League books about damaging other teams. He said NBA lawyers are looking into it and seeing if they can prove that Sterling is hurting the League as a whole.

Wojnarowski said that Magic Johnson is mobilized to make a move on the Clippers if they become available. He explained that Magic may have Tweeted that he doesn’t want to now, but that could change. Wojnarowski said that the Clips are worth “North of a billion.” Wojnarowski said under the current CBA, teams are basically printing money. And that Magic had a group looking to buy the Lakers, but the Buss family wasn’t going to sell.

Wojnarowski thinks that the Clippers will focus on what’s happening on the court tonight. He said they know their season is in dire straits if they lose tonight.
