Mike Bresnahan: Lakers coaching search wide open

Los Angeles Times’ Mike Bresnahan joined the show to talk about Mike D’Antoni resigning and what’s next for the Lakers.

Bresnahan says the coaching search is wide open. He doesn’t think it will be a college coach. He said it could be a former Laker like Kurt Rambis, or a big name like George Karl or Jeff Van Gundy.

Bresnahan said that this isn’t an ideal situation for a coach. He said it’s a weak free agent class and they are spending a lot of money on Steve Nash next year. “I think they punt this offseason,” Bresnahan said.

Bresnahan weighed in on the Clippers as well. He doesn’t think that Donald Sterling will go quietly into the night.
