George Brett admires Jeter for handling being single so well

Hall of Famer George Brett joined the show to talk about his former team the Royals and more.

Brett talked about a conversation he had with Derek Jeter. He was amazed Jeter stayed single for so long and never had something negative to say about him off the field. Brett said that people gave him a hard time for being single until he was 39, claiming he was gay or something was wrong with him. Brett said that his parents had a bad marriage and he didn’t want to replicate that.

Brett said he could enjoy being single more than today’s players: “Life was different. We didn’t have cell phones, twitter, facebook. You just tried to go out there and have enough rest to go out there the next day.”
