Tom Verducci: Royals and Giants experts in ‘October baseball’
Fox broadcaster and Sports Illustrated writer Tom Verducci joined the show to preview the World Series.
Verducci said he thinks the better story is the Royals winning is the better story because they haven’t won in 29 years. He said stores have cold weather Royals gear for the first time in forever.
Verducci said both of these teams play “October baseball” … they’re comfortable in low-scoring game.
Verducci commented on the ratings dropping nationally. He said it’s because of the way media is more spread out with so many options. But the sport is as strong as ever regionally.
Verducci talked about the offseason and said that new commissioner Rob Manfred probably won’t do too much in his first offseason and efforts to speed the game aren’t going to happen immediately.
