Dean Blandino on Dez Bryant catch, new concussion rule

NFL officiating head Dean Blandino joined the show to talk about the rule changes they’ve implemented and more.

Blandino explained that they changed the wording on what’s a catch after the Dez Bryan controversy. “The football move … I think that confused a lot of people. [Bryant] was not a runner.”

Blandino also explained the new policy on concussion spotters. He said they can stop play and take players off the field. Blandino said a spotter saw Julian Edelman stumble during the Super Bowl but couldn’t take him off the field.

Blandino also updated us on the possibility for changes to extra points. They may vote on moving it back to the 15-yard line today or table it for later this Spring.
