Coach K on how he came to love playing freshmen
Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski joined the show to talk about winning a fifth national title and more.
Coach K talked about how much pride he had in this group. Dan asked when he started to like freshmen. Krzyzewski said he’s always like freshmen. He likes sophomores even better. But he did say he resisted recruiting one-and-done types for a long time – with Kobe Bryant being an exception.
Krzyzewski talked about his future and gave Dan a hard time for asking him if he’s closer to retirement. But he did talk frankly about his future. He said coaching this year was a pure joy every day. He wants to continue coaching for at least a few more years and sounded very upbeat about staying at Duke for a while.
