Derek Carr looks back at rookie season, praises Amari Cooper

Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr joined the show to talk about training camp and much more.

Dan asked Carr what advice he’d have for rookie QBs Marcus Mariota and Jameis Winston. “The game is completely different,” Carr said. “I would tell them to study the game tape. Go out and give everything you got. Don’t hold anything back. Don’t have any reservation. Just play. Off the field … it’s a long season. In college they went to bowl games. But the toll this game takes on you. There were games in college where I didn’t get hit once.”

Carr also talked about curfew. He said they don’t necessarily check rooms … they treat them like men. But if they found Carr out after curfew they’d be shocked.

Carr also talked about rookie receiver Amari Cooper: “He’s so fast. He’s so sudden. I’ve never seen a guy track the ball like that.”
