Jeff Daniels compares comedy to drama, breaks down how he prepares for roles

Actor Jeff Daniels joined the show to talk about his career, the new movie Jobs and much more. Daniels talked about working with Aaron Sorkin, how he prepared and didn’t prepare for The Newsroom, not going to acting school, the pressure of working with Meryl Streep, Woody Allen’s directorial style and why he’s proud of Dumb and Dumber.

Daniels had an interesting explanation of why comedy can be harder than drama: “It’s harder to do comedy because you have a smaller target.” Daniels said he had questions about Dumb and Dumber when reading the script, but a friend advised him that it was actually funny.
