Packers linebacker Clay Matthews joined the show to talk about his team and share his thoughts on the Super Bowl.
Matthews weighed in on Cam Newton. He said it can get on defensive players nerves if you celebrate too long. But if you don’t want a guy like Newton to do that, stop him.
He also ripped quarterbacks in general: “There’s an agreement in the NFL that quarterbacks are quarterbacks. They agree not to be tough.”
Matthews weighed in on Eddie Lacy and his coach Mike McCarthy saying he needs to be in better shape. Matthews thinks that Lacy will take that to heart and come out like a house on fire next season.
Matthews told Dan he didn’t take reports that Aaron Rodgers’ engagement reports too seriously: “When the media comes out first and says Rodgers is engaged, I’m thinking 99 percent of the time he’s not engaged. … I wouldn’t think I’d hear it on the TV first.”
