Byron Scott on D’Angelo Russell: “His work ethic has to get better”
Former Lakers coach Byron Russell discussed rookie guard D’Angelo Russell’s development. Dan asked if he can be a great player. “I think he can,” Scott said. “His work ethic has to get better. … But he has some tools. He can flat-out score. He can see the floor very well. … If he puts in the work, I think the kid can be a great player.”
Scott said that he did have to discipline Russell at time. “He almost tried to act like he was a veteran,” Scott said. “There were times I had to be tough.”
