Ben Simmons wants to play point forward, discusses LeBron topping him

No. 1 overall pick Ben Simmons joined the show to discuss going to the 76ers and more. Here are some of his comments:

— On his position: “Point forward for sure. It’s the best position for me and style of play. I think I can get a lot done at point forward.

— How college helped him: “It helped me more on the mental level … playing through adversity and knowing not everything is going to be perfect.”

— On improving his shooting: “By the time I get to the League I’ll be a much better player than I was the other day.”

— How LeBron reacted when he said he was looking forward to matching up against him: “He just [showed me his] camera and it was the championship trophy so I couldn’t say anything back.”

— On reports he didn’t want to play in Philadelphia: “I think that was more a media thing. Which shows you can’t believe everything you read or see unless it’s coming from that person. I’m very, very happy to be going to Philly.”

— Why LSU didn’t make the NCAA Tournament: “A lot of things went into that. Players were hurt. Chemistry was broken because guys were out. It kind of messed up thing. I definitely enjoyed my time there. I loved LSU. I loved the fans and the coaches. I wouldn’t trade it for anything.”
