Gene Collier weighs in on Steelers’ Mendenhall Tweets

Pittsburgh Post-Gazzette columnist Gene Collier joined the show to talk about Rashard Mendenhall’s controversial Tweets on Osama Bin Laden’s death.

“it’s a terricially embarrassing thing for [the Steelers],” Collier said.

Collier said that the consequences could be affected by the Lockout. “If nothing happens until August or September, this has a chance to blow over,” Collier said. “If the Lockout is lifted in a week, there could be harsher reprecussions.”

Collier said the Steelers have been through a lot. Last year, when they were dealing with the Ben Roethlisberger issue, they cut Santonio Holmes for controversial Tweets and more.

Collier said that Mendenhall tends to go off half-cocked. Last month he agreed with Adrian Peterson comparing the way NFL players are treated to slavery.
