Ron Darling says Burnett will be fine for Yankees in Game 4

TBS’ Ron Darling joined the show to break down the MLB playoffs. Here are some of his takes:

— Darling thinks A.J. Burnett is going to be alright for the Yankees in Game 4. “He was great in September and I think he’s going to be good tonight,” Burnett said.

— Darling thinks the Rays’ problem against Texas is offense. “Tampa Bay is going to have to find a way to score more runs or they’re in trouble,” Darling said.

— Darling said that a five-game series is better than a seven-game series for the Cardinals against the Phillies.  “It wouldn’t surprise me if [the Cardinals] won that series becasue they’ve been so resilient,” Darling said.”La Russa every single year gets the most out of these guys.”

— Darling said that the Diamondbacks don’t have enough players to catch up to the Brewers. He’s particularly impressed with Milwaukee’s Ryan Braun.

— Darling said Justin Verlander had an amazing year. But not enough to win the MVP. Darling said he’s seen other pitchers with better seasons not win that award. Darling said Miguel Cabrera and Jose Valverde deserve votes as well.
