LA Times' Gary Klein thinks USC equipment manager likely didn't act alone

Los Angeles Times USC reporter Gary Klein joined the show to talk about the manager that deflated balls before the Oregon game.

Klein said the school insists the manager was not told to do this by a coach, player or anyone associated with the team.

But Klein said it’s tough to imagine a student equipment manager would act on their own. Klein said that’s a job where you don’t want to be seen. And Klein said it’s certainly not beyond the realm of possibility that a quarterback could tell the manager that the balls are too slick.

Klein said he thinks Lane Kiffin is coaching for his future because AD Pat Haden will tire of answering these questions about the team disappointing. And Klein also weighed in on USC defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin. He said it’s an interesting dynamic to say the least.
