Jeff Van Gundy on Cavs-Heat, Rondo trade, Phil Jackson

ESPN’s Jeff Van Gundy joined the show to talk about the big stories in the NBA.

Dan asked how you replace the thrill of being a coach. Van Gundy said you can’t. “There’s no greater feeling than a great road win,” Van Gundy said.

Van Gundy is calling the Cavs-Heat game on Christmas Day. He said fans in Miami should acknowledge the “incredible achievement” they had with LeBron. Then they should root like crazy for the home team when the game starts.

Van Gundy weighed in on the Rajon Rondo trade. He thinks there will be some positives and some things the Mavericks will have to adjust to with a new point guard.

Van Gundy had very interesting comments on Phil Jackson. He said that the Triangle was probably overrated, but Phil himself was underrated.
