John Smoltz on why he reached HOF and PED impact on vote

Hall of Famer John Smoltz joined the show to talk about getting the call for Cooperstown and the PED issue and the HOF vote.

Smoltz talked about where he fits among the great pitchers: “I’m not Pedro. I’m not Randy Johnson. I’m a unique candidate. That doesn’t mean I deserve 90 percent. I was able to accomplish a few different things.”

Smoltz also talked about where we stand with accusing people about PEDs. “I thought 15, 20 years ago we’d never get to this point,” Smoltz said. “Big names, never gonna happen. And it all happened.”

Smoltz weighed in on Mike Piazza: “He, by far, best offensive catcher I can think of in the history of the game.”
