John Smoltz previews his HOF speech
Soon-to-be Hall of Famer John Smoltz joined the show to talk about his speech next week in Cooperstown and much more. Smoltz weighed in on the state of pitching and said that people are too into how fast young pitchers are throwing instead of how good they are. He talked about where he ranked with Greg Maddux and Tom Glavine and some of Maddux’s unusual characteristics. And he talked about MLB taking his idea to put the home run derby on the clock.
