MLB Network analyst Al Leiter joined the show to share his take on the MLB Playoffs and more. He commented on Don Mattingly and said that teams that over-value Sabermetrics are making a mistake.
“They think you can have a cardboard cut-out in the dugout,” Leiter said. “They’re wrong. … They give you stats that say there’s no difference with hitting with runners in scoring position. As soon as I hear that I respectfully glaze over. Because there is a difference. There is a difference in the 27th out then throwing a scoreless seventh inning.”
