John Andrew Smoltz, nicknamed “Smoltzie” and “Marmaduke,” is an American former baseball pitcher and active sportscaster. He played 21 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) for three teams, all but one of which were spent with the Atlanta Braves. In his tenure with the team, he garnered eight All-Star selections and the National League Cy Young Award in 1996. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2015, his first year of eligibility.
