Kelly Slater talks about winning 11th title, sharks and eventual retirement

Kelly Slater joined the show to talk about winning his 11th world title.

Dan asked how surprised he was that they won. Kelly talked about how he missed a race and was concerned about what it meant. They drop the worst two scores. It worked out, but Slater said it ended up very close.

Slater talked about sharks in the water. He said that he went right after Dusty Payne in the recent tournament in San Francisco, who dropped out of the competition because of a shark sighting. Slater said he figured the shark wasn’t in the same area.

Slater talked about retirement. He doesn’t have to decide until February or March. Dan asked what beach he would retire to. Slater said if he’s thinking about surfing, then Fiji.
