Bob Costas talks about Jerry Sandusky interview and what didn’t air on NBC
Bob Costas joined the show to talk about interviewing Jerry Sandusky for “Rock Center” last night on NBC.
Costas said that when he came on our show yesterday, he thought he was going to interview Jerry Sandusky’s lawyer Joseph Amendola. Then Amendola said to Costas, do you want to try to interview Sandusky. Costas said yes, and then they made it happen quickly.
Costas said that the entire interview didn’t air (you can find it here). Costas said that Sandusky told him that there are many boys who didn’t object to his methods and were helped by him.
Dan asked Costas what surprised him. Costas said he was surprised Sandusky revealed as much as he did. “This is so highly inappropriate, that such a person has no business … even with the minimum stipulations being around young children on an ongoing business,” Costas said.
