Mike Gundy says he thinks Oklahoma State could beat LSU and wants a final four

Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy joined the show to talk about the Cowboys ending up at No. 3 in the BCS.

Dan asked Gundy why he thinks Oklahoma State’s not in the BCS game.  “I guess the loss at Iowa State mush have weighed in a huge way,” Gundy said. “We were really disappointed because we had a great matchup — the great defenses in the SEC vs. the Big 12 offenses.”

Gundy agreed with Dan that a final four playoff would be great this season. He thinks Oklahoma State should play Alabama and LSU should play Stanford next week. Then Gundy argues there’d be plenty of time to get in more games. “The championship game’s not until March Madness anyway,” Gundy said.

Gundy said he does think OSU could beat LSU. “The best way to beat a team of the caliber of LSU — and I’m giving them credit because they played a tremendous schedule — you need to have a big-time quarterback,” Gundy said. “We have a guy on our team most people would consider a big-time quarterback (Brandon Weeden).”

Gundy talked about facing Stanford’s Andrew Luck. He compared him to former Oklahoma QB Sam Bradford.

Gundy didn’t say who his Heisman vote would go to, but he said he’s very impressed with Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III. He also said Luck belongs in the conversation.
