Steve Spurrier says Alabama could beat some NFL teams

South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier joined the show to talk about the devastating injury to his running back Marcus Lattimore and more.

Spurrier said that he expects Lattimore will be able to play again at South Carolina.

“There’s hope,” Spurrier said. “Modern day medicine can do miracles. Willis McGahee had a similar injury.”

Spurrier had very nice things to say about Lattimore. “He’s such a well-liked kid,” Spurrier said. “He never trash-talked them and they never trashptalked him. He’s just a wonderful kid.”

Spurrier weighed in on how good his SEC foe Alabama is. “Alabama looks like they could beat a couple of those NFL teams we see on Sunday,” Spurrier said. “Nick’s got a nice little gig going over there.”

Spurrier compared Saban to Kentucky coach John Calipari. He said it’s unfair because Saban gets his guys for three years and Calipari has him for only one year.

Dan asked Spurrier, who has a vote, his Heisman choice. “I think the Heisman is wide open right now,” Spurrier said.
