Gary Danielson ranks his top four title contenders
CBS’ Gary Danielson joined the show to talk about the big stories in college football.
Dan asked Dan to list his top four if the undefeated teams stay unbeaten:
1. Alabama
2. Oregon
3. Kansas State
4. Notre Dame
Danielson noted that Oregon will have a conference championship game and that gives them the edge.
Danielson said he likes Kansas State against an SEC defense because of big physical spread QB Collin Klein. He said Tim Tebow and Cam Newton gave SEC defenses fit because of that.
Danielson also had a strong take on college football injuries and eligibility rules for the NFL. He thinks freshmen and sophomores should be able to go pro because of injury risk. He pointed to Marcus Lattimore’s terrible injury. And said that South Carolina star Jadeveon Clowney should go to the NFL instead of playing more.
Danielson weighed in on the debate of the week — could Alabama beat an NFL team? Danielson said Alabama wouldn’t have a chance.
