Brian Kelly said he voted Alabama for No. 1, Notre Dame at No. 2
Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly joined the show to talk about his undefeated season and what he expects the rest of the year.
Kelly shared his coaches’ poll vote:
1. Alabama
2. Notre Dame
3. Oregon
4. Kansas State
5. Georgia
Kelly said he doesn’t try to get into all the national hype about Notre Dame, although he said that it is special because the school has been down.
Dan asked Kelly why he always has success in his third year on the job. He said it’s about creating good habits and carrying them into Saturdays.
Kelly said that the teams that play Notre Dame get up and give the Irish their best game. He said Pittsburgh played its best and he expects Boston College to play its best.
Kelly talked about his style. He said at a place like Cincinnati, he had to create an exciting offense to lure fans. He said Cincy was a basketball school and he used a high-flying passing model. He said that at Notre Dame you don’t have to do that.
