Tony Dungy says Packers best in NFC, talks about Peyton's perfection

NBC NFL analyst Tony Dungy joined the show to break down the playoff picture and more.

“The way they’re playing right now,” Dungy said,”I would not want to play them.”

Dungy said that the Giants have been a bit too up-and-down for him of late. He said they have to prove they can string together a number of strong performances.

Dungy said that tonight’s Texans-Patriots game is more important to Houston. Dungy said the Texans really need to have a playoff game be in Houston. Dungy thinks the Pats are a little better right now because the Texans are beat up on defense.

Dan asked Dungy about a quote about Peyton Manning being annoying sometimes. “The annoying thing is he wants to be perfect,” Dungy said. Dungy said Manning couldn’t be a coach because he expects everyone to be like him. Peyton would be too frustrated. But Dungy said he could be an analyst.

Dungy weighed in on NFL discipline problems. He said that players who drive drunk or get in trouble, they should be disciplined, either with a fine or suspension.

“I think you have to get with the Players Association and change these rules,” Dungy said. “We have to have discipline and action.”
