Tony Dungy’s conference title game analysis, early Super Bowl pick

NBC NFL analyst Tony Dungy joined the show to talk about the conference title games.

Dungy seemed surprised the Falcons were shut down in the second half. “That was just baffling to me what happened to the Atlanta offense,” Dungy said.

Dungy said that he was surprised the Ravens won in Foxboro. But he said the New England defense can’t make “critical stops.”

Dungy weighed in with his early pick. “Right now I have to pick Baltimore,” Dungy said. Dungy pointed to the Steelers winning a Super Bowl when they wanted to send Jerome Bettis out on top. He thinks they can continue that emotional ride with Ray Lewis.

Dungy talked about Bill Belichick not doing an interview with CBS after the game. He said that Belichick did what he was required to do, and that doesn’t make him a poor loser. “He’s got quirky ways when he wins, too,” Dungy said.

Dungy said that Belichick was more gracious when the Patriots lost to the Colts then when they won. When they won, Belichick didn’t say much.
