Stan Van Gundy breaks down Heat’s Game 6 win

NBC Sports Network’s Stan Van Gundy joined the show to talk about the Heat’s dramatic win over the Spurs in Game 6 of the NBA Finals.

Van Gundy said even with all the big plays, it came down to the basics: “A lot of it comes down to the most simple things in the game … making free throws, blocking out. That’s what it came down to it last night.”

Van Gundy commented on Gregg Popovich taking Tim Duncan out in the final seconds. Van Gundy said that he never took Dwight Howard out in that situation because of his ability to protect the rim and play defense.

Van Gundy said he agrees with his brother Jeff that they could have called a foul on Chris Bosh after he blocked Danny Green’s shot in the final seconds of overtime. He said that would have been a foul in the first 48 minutes, so it probably should have been a foul there.
