Dean Blandino explains new rule abour leading with crown of helmet

NFL officiating head Dean Blandino joined the show to talk about new rules coming in 2013.

Blandio explained the rule about runners lowering their head with the crown of the helmet outside the tackle box. “It doesn’t prohibit incidental helmet-to-helmet contact,” Blandino said. “We’re trying to encourage players to keep their head up.”

Blandino also talked about rules on facemasks. He said trainers have to be able to see players eyes and and there are complications with masks that obscure the face.

Blandino also talked about finally changing the tuck rule and said common sense finally prevailed and now the tuck will be a fumble.
